JANET HAND, MA, RN is the founder/director of Pathways to Wellness Healing Center in Glen Head, NY, where she maintains a private practice as a holistic nurse. She specializes in therapeutic body work, polarity energy balancing, psychospiritual counseling, wellness education, retreats, and self development for inner awareness and transformation.
Janet received her BS in Nursing at Adelphi University and received her MA in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing from NYU. She is a clinical nurse specialist and has been in nursing education, holistic healing, and private practice for 35 years. Janet has been an adjunct faculty at the College of New Rochelle in the graduate holistic nursing program; currently she is an adjunct factulty at Adelphi University in the undergraduate community health nursing program; and a consultant at Stony Brook University in the School of Social Welfare. She has studied many cultural/natural ways of healing.
Janet is an Ordained Interfaith Minister from The New Seminary of Interfaith Ministry in New York City. She is currently a third year dean offering a certificate program in spiritual counseling. Janet creates Interfaith weddings, baby naming/blessings, funerals, memorials, house blessings, and other life rituals/ceremonies. She offers study groups on the wisdom of dreams, simplicity, healing and spiritual practice for wellness.
Janet's knowledge and experience in nursing and spirituality are grounded in the awareness that health is wholeness — a dynamic harmony and creative balance of Body, Mind, Spirit. She empowers one's inner wisdom, resources, and choices for healing.
